We do not want houses built on the beautiful countryside of the Bognor Regis Golf Course.

We do not have the infrastructure to support this much new housing in Felpham or in the surrounding area.  Many local residents are concerned that many of our schools are over subscribed, as are our doctors and NHS dentists.  Felpham has already had a very large new building estate built next to where the new houses are planned, we do not have the infrastructure for anymore! There were many promises that did got delivered with the build of the Blakesmead estate, a new school included. Downview Road and the A259 are already congested, if the new estate connects to either of these roads it’s going to cause local residents chaos, travelling issues and avoidable congestion.

We already have flooding issues in our local area, the golf course is not exempt from this. The drainage of hundreds of extra houses on this land is concerning, we already see issues with overflow sewage into our local beaches. What is this going to be like with hundreds of new houses? 

The wildlife on the golf course is of huge concern, in the words of the golf club from their own website they have deer, squirrels, buzzards, sparrow hawks, woodpeckers and pheasants.  Where will all this wildlife go? They’ve already had a lot of their habitats taken by the Blakesmead estate developed next door to the golf centre! Giving land for ‘green space and park land’ is not enough, they are going to be surrounded by houses and it is not fair. We must think about our local environment and wildlife, enough is enough!
