Change AZ law recognizing pet companions as having intrinsic value.The loss of a pet companion due to negligence causes not only pain and/or death of the animal but also for the family . Emotional distress (the mental anguish suffered by the owner as a result of the negligent or intentional actions of the wrongdoer), loss of companionship, and the "intrinsic value" of the pet are all factors that should be taken into account when receiving compensation for this type of loss. A pet is not just a thing but occupies a special place somewhere in between a person and a piece of personal property. This may be the first step toward increasing the status of pets under law.
