Taxi commuters of Makapanstad United Taxi Association (MAUTA) are opposing the proposed taxi fare. We demand and propose that the fare increment should be fair and area based. We demand that each village have its own fare, particularly for the Makapanstad to Hammanskraal route. We fail to understand the logic the leaders and members of the association apply to come up with pricing. 

We would like to understand how people from Mathibestad to Dertig are expected to pay the same amount as the people from Makapanstad. We have noted that commuters from Makapanstad have been highly favoured by MAUTA while everyone else is treated unfairly. We have allowed this issue to continue for so long BUT we are tired of being taken for a ride. Commuters from Mathibestad, Lefatlheng and Dertig will NOT be paying the same amount as those from Makapanstad. 

Each and every village should have its own pricing. We would like to see different prices for Makapanstad, Mathibestad, Lefatlheng, Dertig, Danhouse and Bosplaas. If taxi drivers need to use calculators for taxi fare, so be it. We are tired of being robbed by MAUTA.
