Are we to tolerate MPs Crossing the Floor , tipping the balance of power in minority gover

The Issue

Tolerate or Protest? Don’t speak up or Speak up?
Two months after an Election won by as few as 1 vote out of thousands cast, are we ok with this blatant act of deception , disguised as policy?  You decide   Sign or don’t   In a democracy this is our only recourse   It’s up to the individual to decide, Do we protest or do we accept ?

In recent months, Canada’s political landscape has been shaken by several instances of elected Members of Parliament (MPs) crossing the floor without any repercussions. This practice undermines public trust in our democratic institutions and weakens the fundamental principles upon which our system of government is built.
The recent floor crossing in the riding of Markham–Unionville is a clear example of this issue. When MPs change party affiliation mid-term, they betray the mandate given to them by the voters who elected them under a specific party platform and ideological commitment. This disregard for the electorate’s choice not only erodes confidence in representative democracy but also furthers political division among Canadians.
The Prime Minister’s public praise for such defections is deeply troubling and sends the wrong message about ethics and integrity in public office. Elected representatives should be held to the highest standards of accountability and transparency, not celebrated for abandoning their commitments.
We believe that any MP who decides to change party allegiance must first resign their seat and trigger a by-election. This ensures that voters have the opportunity to decide whether they continue to support their representative under the new party affiliation. Without this requirement, constituents are left without meaningful recourse and represented by someone whose political agenda they may no longer endorse.

Canadians deserve representatives who are steadfast in their commitments and dedicated to serving the public interest!!

We therefore call on Canadian lawmakers to reform our political process by introducing legislation that prevents MPs from double crossing constituents!!
