This passion all started with a young boy who enjoyed visiting his local arcades when suddenly there it was…with flashing red lights and all the hopes of future aviators everywhere…Afterburner by SEGA was showcased in all its glory! And this young gamer’s passion for arcade gaming (and now as an adult…aviation!!!) was born. 

Released in 1987, Afterburner (and later, Afterburner II) enabled Mavericks everywhere to experience the “need for speed” by flying the truly legendary F-14 Tomcat and take down wave after wave of baddies. In 1988, Afterburner was the highest grossing arcade game in Japan and still today frequently makes the list of top arcade games of all time.

This iconic arcade game now needs to finally find a home with the iconic arcade game maker for the home market: Arcade1Up!

While an authentic made for home rendition of the classic Afterburner cabinet would be sufficient as the only game available, just imagine the potential games list when considering the unique flight stick controls:

Thunder Blade

Galaxy Force

These all are legendary arcade games and a perfect match for the Arcade1Up Afterburner cabinet. While others can be considered (G-LOC, Sky Target, etc), imagine an Afterburner cabinet with any one of these!!!
