Special Matrimony - Find Your Life Partner. (IOS)
The Issue
Hello everyone!
For the past 4 years myself, along with a team of developers started working on a project. The project is a matchmaking app, however it's tailored towards individuals that are deaf, hard of hearing, autistic, visually impaired and those who may have additional support needs (Cerebral palsy, Spinal Injury, Amputee, Asperger’s syndrome, Tourette syndrome, Victims of acid attack and much more). As well as those that have health conditions such as, diabetes, Stroke, Cancer, Arthritis, etc).
Unlike many apps, our model and vision is completely different. We want this app to be accessible to as many people around the globe that have various disabilities and conditions, so for this reason we have not added any monthly subscription fees.
The app will allow users to...
- Interact via video call and instant messaging
- Filter through the advanced search field and find matches locally/globally
- Users can send and receive virtual gifts (Flowers, Love hearts etc).
- Option to add to list of favourites
- App can be translated to multiple languages (Hindi, French, Spanish, Telugu, Tamil, German, Arabic, Urdu etc)
- and much more!
Our main purpose is to bring love, happiness and joy in the lives of many people around the globe that have different types of disabilities and conditions. However, we are currently facing an obstacle with Apple!
Apple have rejected our app twice, even when we have replied with some valid reasons on why the app should be approved. Twice Apple have come back with the following message.....
"Guideline 4.3 - Design - Spam
Your app primarily features dating features. As such, it duplicates the content and functionality of many other similar apps currently available on the App Store.
While these app features may be useful, informative or entertaining, we simply have enough of these types of apps on the App Store, and they are considered a form of spam."
Now, when actually referring to their guideline, it clearly states the following below...
"Also avoid piling on to a category that is already saturated; the App Store has enough fart, burp, flashlight, fortune telling, dating, and Kama Sutra apps, etc. already. We will reject these apps unless they provide a unique, high-quality experience. Spamming the store may lead to your removal from the Developer Program."
The text in bold clearly states that they will accept apps which are unique, so it doesn't make sense at all why they have rejected our app. The services that we are providing are unique.
The sign-up process itself is aimed towards people who have disabilities, it requires people to choose the type of disability and sign languages before being allowed to have access onto the app. All our search filters and other core features are based on the disability or condition of the users.
There are many people in the world that would benefit from using this app and by apple not allowing this to be available on their platform. We feel this would be discrimination under the disability act for not allowing them access to to a very much needed services.
Please sign the petition, share it as much as you can, so we can get Apple to make this app available for IOS users.
Thank You!
