Apple can take its own sanctions against Russia. Apple, as the largest company in the world with more than a billion active devices, has enormous power.

Russians are big fans of Apple’s gadgets and have been ready to pay about a third more for the latest iPhone models than customers in the US. Apple could stop selling to Russia and switch off its services, helping to put pressure on the population to in turn pressurise Putin to stop his illegal invasion of Ukraine. Please do not underestimate the effect of this kind of "soft power".

We call on Apple to stop selling to Russia. To switch off Apple Pay in Russia, to switch off iCloud services in Russia, shut down the App Store in Russia and to freeze developer accounts in Russia. 

Putin's Russia needs to be sidelined in world affairs, what better way than to make Russian's IOS and Mac devices useless. 

Tim Cook and the Apple board have the opportunity to support democracy and help Ukraine.
