Apple should allow the Peanuts Holiday Specials to air on broadcast TV

The Issue

The Peanuts specials have aired on broadcast television, for free, uninterrupted, since 1965. Many of us are saddened by the end of this tradition and limiting it's access to AppleTV.

We understand you intend to allow "free access" during certain dates in the holiday season. However, not every child's family has financial or geographical access to high speed internet needed to stream video. There's also the financial impediment of required devices. We worry that a new generations of children will never have the access to what has become an American tradition.

We call on you rethink this decision, and allow the broadcast of each these specials on traditional network television once in the holiday season. If a deal cannot be worked out with any of the commercial networks, why not allow PBS to air it through an underwriting grant from Apple?

It's time for Apple to fulfill it's promise of making the world a better place by continuing the tradition intended by Charles Schultz. We need this in 2020. We've suffered so much loss already.
