Dear Hon. Prime Minister and Hon. Home Minister,

Subject: Systematic targeting of Arnab Goswami and Republic TV by the Maharashtra government & Indian opposition.

Indians have always fought for the freedom of expression and freedom of speech. Press is the fourth pillar of our democracy. Its freedom is important for our democracy to exist and flourish.

Republic TV is one such news channel that has been known for great journalistic standards and providing factual news with unchallenged proofs. Arnab Goswami through his pure journalistic skills uncovered several scams and the hard stories that others completely ignore.   

Republic TV and Arnab Goswami do not shy away from speaking the truth, as bitter as it may be, and ask the tough questions.  Republic TV was the only news channel that was able to question Maharashtra Government for its grave injustice in the Palghar Sadhu lynching case.  This was the only channel that was able to uncover the evil designs of anti-India forces to divide the country further on the lines of caste during the Hathras rape/murder case.  Arnab Goswami was the journalist who had the courage to question the JNU Tukde Tukde gang which exposed the evils of the leftists in JNU. Republic TV has been successfully able to challenge the grave injustice in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput murder case which unearthed the massive Illegal drug smuggling business and the involvement of Dawood Ibrahim in Bollywood and in Mumbai.  These issues of Bollywood were always known.  This is the first time a serious investigation is happening against the industry that has the highest influence on the youth and was always given an unfair advantage.  These all are just some of the examples of exemplary work by Republic TV and Arnab Goswami.

Republic TV and Arnab Goswami have single-handedly provided extremely credible news with facts and proofs. This has helped Indians unite and understand the sinister designs of the internal and external enemies. This has helped us make the right decisions when required.  Certain vested interests are systematically trying to crush Republic TV and Arnab Goswami by all illegal means. Those targeting republic TV plan to stifle the information reaching the citizens. The expected outcome is to embolden the anti-India forces and let them set all the narrative both in the country and internationally.

As an Indian, I would like to appeal to the Government of India to investigate this matter with utmost urgency. I want to be well informed to make my decisions regarding my country and understand the things happening around me.  My Right to Information is not optional.  Stifling of Republic TV will be disastrous for the country and may cause irrecoverable loss to us and our democracy.  Once the true and courageous voice of the country is suppressed, it would be a tough and uncertain journey for the people to know the truth.  Anti-India forces will only be emboldened with this.     

Requesting you to act with urgency and help protect the fourth pillar of democracy.
