On this solemn Nagasaki Day, the staff and students of Cochin Public School Ernakulam India  come together with a message of peace and hope. To mark this day of remembrance and resolve, we created a giant peace crane, filled with over 5,000 origami cranes made by our students. Each crane carries a heartfelt message of hope, harmony, and a strong plea for nuclear disarmament. This symbolic gesture, inspired by the story of Sadako Sasaki, is our way of telling the world: We choose peace. We stand for life.

The horrors of nuclear warfare remain a grim reminder of the unimaginable suffering caused in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It is our collective responsibility to reflect deeply on these events and commit to a future where peace prevails. We must ensure strict adherence to International Humanitarian Law (IHL) in all ongoing and future conflicts to prevent the repetition of such tragedies.

This petition is raised not only by us at Cochin Public School but also on behalf of children across the world who yearn for a world free from the threat of nuclear warfare. We urge the UN Secretary-General and Heads of States and Governments to hear our collective voice. It’s imperative to make peace and civilian protection a central priority.

We call on international leaders to reinforce their commitment to IHL, actively promote peace negotiations, and ensure the safety and security of all civilians during conflicts. By doing so, we can honor those who suffered in past wars and pave the way for a future where children can grow without the looming shadow of nuclear threats.

Join us in our mission to make the world a safer place for all. Your voice and your support are crucial in this endeavor. Sign this petition to make a lasting impact and help us build a peaceful tomorrow. Together, let’s ensure that the story of Nagasaki becomes a lesson for future generations, not a prophecy. Sign and share this petition for peace now.
