Appeal Against the Demolition & Reconstruction of Sri Grama Devatha Temples in villages
The Issue
Mamaskaram!
I am filing this petition in connection with the recommendation letters being provided by local political leaderships recommending to providing a money grants for the demolishing and reconstruction of the Grama Devatha Temples in Villages under the TTD's Temple Scheme.
As villagers, we advocate for leaving these decisions within the purview of the broader community rather than entrusting them to local political workers who may seek personal gain from such endeavors!
I am writing to you as a concerned member of Nadagam village, where our community holds deep reverence for the Grama Devatha Sri Asiritallamma temple. It has come to our attention that there are plans to demolish the existing temple and construct a new one, and we wish to express our collective sentiments regarding this matter.
The Sri Asiritallamma temple is not just a place of worship for us; it is a living testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of our village. The temple has been an integral part of our community for decades, serving as a symbol of our collective identity and a memorial to our ancestors. The spiritual and cultural significance of this temple cannot be overstated, and it holds a special place in the hearts of every villager.
We understand that development and progress are essential, but we believe that preserving the sanctity of our temple is equally crucial. The proposed demolition and construction would not only erase a physical structure but also sever the emotional and spiritual ties that bind us to our roots. Our sentiments are deeply rooted in the history of the temple, and any change to its original form is met with strong opposition from the villagers.
The Sri Asiritallamma temple stands as a living legacy, embodying the traditions and memories of our forefathers. As custodians of this heritage, we wish to pass it on intact to future generations. It serves as a memorial to the sacrifices and beliefs of our ancestors, and altering its form would be akin to erasing a part of our history.
We, the undersigned members of the community, humbly request your intervention in reconsidering the decision to demolish the existing temple. We propose alternative solutions that can accommodate development without compromising the sanctity of the temple. We believe that a constructive dialogue between the concerned authorities and the community can lead to a solution that respects both tradition and progress.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and are hopeful that you will consider our plea with the utmost sensitivity and understanding. We look forward to a positive resolution that preserves the cultural and spiritual fabric of our village.
As villagers, we advocate for leaving these decisions within the purview of the broader community rather than entrusting them to local political workers who may seek personal gain from such endeavors!
At times, preserving the sanctity of the original is beneficial; hence, we kindly seek your support for our cause. Please assist us in safeguarding the heritage and culture of our village.
Thank you for your time, consideration and support .
