The 'Sanford Mall preachers' at Appalachian State University are notoriously known for initiating religious disputes among themselves and the students. These preachers' publicly shame students with homophobic, racial, and religiously-intolerant statements. Students are left angered, saddened, and shamed because of these actions, therefore we are calling for action to change. For our 'Confronting Hate' (freshman seminar) project, we chose to target the 'preachers' because we believe they do not accurately represent Christian teachings. With that being said, we urge you to help us build back a safe space at Sanford Mall by getting rid of the radical preachers. Thank you!
