As AoPSers we all know that AoPS strictly bans multiple accounts, multis, for a user. This is stated in the AoPS ToS 5.b. However, I think people should be allowed to make multiple accounts. Here's why.

Multis can be actually helpful to the person who made it. Some people might want to use one account for math and the other for posting in the community. There could also be other personal purposes of creating multis. If you deactivated those multis, it might harm the person who made the multi.

I also have personal experience. I was accused of being a multi, so i was deactivated. However, then i didn't have an AoPS account, so i made an actual multi that got deactivated yet again. We are not going to go in detail, but I want you to see how this rule can affect people.

Besides, I know that not all multis cause harm. In fact, only a little amount of multis are used to troll and attack others. I agree that harmful multis should be deactivated, but harmful users should too! Therefore, non-harmful multis should be allowed.

You might also argue that multis would be a waste of storage. However, this can be solved. Maybe limit the amount of multis per user to two. You can also delete old accounts that have not been in use for a few years (with the owners consent of course) as its already stated in the AoPS ToS 19.

There is another problem with forging (as stated in AoPS ToS 5.b). However, not just multis can forge (although its more likely) users can too. We just need to keep watch for these people. Again, most users do not want to do any harm to AoPS by creating multis. They are made for their own purposes, and we should not force anyone to tell what they don't want to tell.

I hope you understand that multis are mostly no harm. Maybe we could let users have 1 or 2 multis, that won't harm AoPS.
