Put a stop to road sign discrimination against older people

Put a stop to road sign discrimination against older people
The Issue
Introduced back in 1981 the ‘Elderly Crossing’ road sign has never been popular with anyone over 60. Designed by children in a competition all those years ago, it is time there was a rethink.
Older people do not want to be depicted on a road sign as stooped over a walking stick hanging onto an equally frail partner. Our "model" is in her 70s but is fit and sprightly. She looks nothing like the people on the sign!
The time has come to rethink the sign: surely ‘Pedestrians Crossing’ would suffice.
