I first read The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss when my son was 3 years old. Books two and three were "already written" and "due to be released later in the year". Long story short my son was 7 when I  was finally able to read book two. My son is now 16 and book three is still not out. 

I could understand if Patrick had writers block, or was apologetic to his fans, but this is not the case. The man spends his time twitch streaming, writing children's books and Rick and Morty fan fiction. When he is asked about book three he is rude and defensive. Basically the man is a jerk, he brags about how witty and smart he is, how he is a writing god. He pisses me off. 

Now I'm not saying that we shouldn't read book three (if or when it's released), I'm proposing that we don't buy the book in hard back. By reading bootlegged PDF files of the book, or by simply waiting for it to be released in paper back we will hurt his chances of getting book of the year (or whatever) and hurt his sales. He has screwed with us long enough. I say we rise up and hit him where it hurts. Together we can make a difference.
