Since last year, when the Ukraine conflict started thousands of stray animals died on the streets. Also there have been reported a significant number of deaths among the ones that already had an owner. Because of the armed conflict many Ukrainians lost their jobs, so they were not able to feed themselves. They were put in the position where they had to chose to starve to death or to feed their animals. As there was no food left for their animals the majority of them died. Our prayers go to the thousands of cats, dogs, guinea pigs, fishes and other pets that lost their life during this war. 

The reason why I started this petition is because one day I saw something that changed my life. I don't even know how to start describing what I saw. One day I was coming back from work and on the street I saw 3 cats that were eating something. When I approached I was perplexed that one of the cats was my neighbor's cat, that they lost during the bombardment. I was horrified that the thing they were eating was a dog's dead body. In that moment I felt so angry. I was not angry on the animals, I was angry that I haven't had the power to stop this from happening. The next days I was so sad because I realized that these things were seen on many streets of Ukraine, animals feeding from other animals. 

The next weeks I started speaking with my neighbors and work colleagues to start collecting money for these animals. No need to say that we were not able to get much of it, as our salaries are hardly enough for us to survive. The small amount that we got was spent in a blink of an eye for a few kilos of food.
