If you have a school chromebook,you probably have the extension Securly. Your administrator put it on there. Securly is used to block any websites that are not school related,it sometimes even blocked school related things! But what people don't know,is that this extension,Securly,is illegal. According to their website www.securly.com/childrensPrivacy under the law of COPPA,we are able to obtain consent to the COLLECTION of PERSONAL INFO online for UNDER THE AGE OF 13! That means,that when your school administrator puts this extension on the computer, it is collection personal info from the child UNDER 13! They also obtain and collect the personal info which means at any time your I.P. address can just be on the internet! Which is super bad because,if you didn't know, your I.P. address is your address,just converted into numbers. It can show you your exact location and where you live! All of that,exposed to the public. It also says,not just they collect it and obtain your info,they can also USE your PERSONAL INFO! Which means they can track you down,send a stalker,anything! This extension is illegal,and I say we remove it from schools computers to stop them from obtaining personal info from children under the age of 13! I think we should stop the use of Securly because it collects,obtains, and uses your personal info!
