Anti-Union Behaviors by OPEIU Local 30 Leadership

Anti-Union Behaviors by OPEIU Local 30 Leadership
The Issue
We, the undersigned members of OPEIU Local 30, have become concerned with the recent behaviors of the Executive Director, CFO, Marianne Giordano, that go against the principles that unions stand for. Marianne’s recent actions of prematurely releasing a 7-year Contract Specialist, Jacqueline Gilbert, after her nomination for Executive Board President and firing Business Agent Angela Jenson without fact-finding, representation, or notification of her union (CWA) are egregious.
Marianne’s actions as a union leader have been antithetical to what the unions represent. We, the undersigned, oppose these actions and are voicing our dissatisfaction to those who partner with OPEIU Local 30. We do not have confidence that the current Executive Board would affect a change and have reached a point where we need to encourage you to understand who you have as a partner in the San Diego Labor movement.
