Rodeos serve no useful purpose to the animals involved. Rodeos are a cruel spectator sport in which bulls, horses, sheep and sometimes other animals are provoked physically with devices such as spurs, ropes, electric prods and flank straps, into displaying wild behaviour. This behaviour often causes distress and harm resulting in injuries, ripped muscle and tissue, fractured and broken bones, and sometimes euthanasia as an end result. Rodeos involve bull riding, calf/steer roping, team roping, steer wrestling or bulldogging, and bareback and saddle bronc riding.

Between the years 2009–2012, laws regarding Rodeos have changed across Australia. South Australia and Victoria have banned calf roping. Tasmania made it a legal requirement to have a veterinarian present at rodeos. Victoria introduced specific offences for using electric prods excessively on cattle and for using it at any time on a horse. Why not save these animals from torture, distress and harm by putting an end to rodeos all together?
