#JusticeForHollister - Stop vets from turning away injured animals of low income owners

The Issue

My yorkie, Hollister, was mauled by a pit bull on April 19, 2020. I took her to the vet hospital to save her. After they gave her IVs, pain medicine and prepped her for surgery, they refused to save her because I didn't have 3,000 dollars on the spot. As a result of the Veterinarian's neglect, she passed away 2 days ago.

The owner of the pit bull only could afford to give me and my husband $100 to help with surgery. I didn't want to sit back and not do anything so I made a GoFundMe and ended up raising all the funds in 18 hours. I thought finally we could save our baby! To my surprise, because the GoFundMe wouldn't deposit into my bank for 3-5 business days, the vet refused to do Hollister's surgery and instead handed her back saying she had 50/50 chance of living.

I'm asking everyone to please join me in supporting and showing Hollister love by signing this petition asking for a law to change this traumatic way of doing business so that nobody else's baby is turned away and left to die. I would have let them keep her as ransom until we paid the bill.

Our baby died April 21, 2020 on my mom's birthday. I made a live video on facebook as soon as I woke up and found my baby was in Jesus' arms. I have documentation of how much her surgery would have cost and also documentation of them giving her IVs, pain medicines and prepping her for surgery. Furbabies aren't just animals, they are our children.

Hollister, you were so more than loved by mommy & daddy and by the whole world. May we all gather together to bring you justice and prevent this from happening to anyone else.
