Animal Housing Laws
The Issue
Growing up, I've always been moved by how vulnerable animals are and how reliant they are on human compassion and responsibility. It deeply pains me to see so many animals discarded like trash, their lives ended prematurely due to human negligence. This concern is not just for the domesticated cats and dogs that find themselves homeless, but also for the wildlife that suffers because of our actions and indifference.
I believe we have a duty to be compassionate stewards for our planet and its inhabitants. However, the current state of affairs clearly shows that we are failing in this responsibility. Corporations driven by greed, pervasive lack of basic animal care education, and outdated policies contribute to this failure. Animals, both pets and wild, deserve better.
One of the significant issues leading to the abandonment and mistreatment of animals is the absence of strict animal housing laws. Inadequate regulations mean pets can be discarded with little consequence, and wildlife habitats can be destroyed without penalties. We urgently need comprehensive legislation that ensures proper care, shelter, and ethical treatment of all animals.
By introducing and enforcing animal housing laws, we can create a society where all creatures are treated with the respect and justice they deserve. This means setting clear standards for pet ownership, equipping owners with the knowledge they need to provide humane care, and holding those who fail accountable. Furthermore, these laws must extend to include protection for natural habitats from destructive practices.
I am calling upon local governments, lawmakers, and organizations dedicated to animal welfare to come together to draft and enact legislation that will make a real difference. Let us invest in educational campaigns and advocate for stricter penalties for those who violate animal rights.
Please join me in urging our leaders to prioritize the protection of our animal friends and the environment. Your support can be the voice for the voiceless creatures who need us now more than ever. Create Laws:
Animal owners are required to register, chip, train, spay, neuter their animals unless they are a registered compliant breeder.
Make sure all companies or breeders that sell animals are registered with the county and are required to register, chip, train, spay/neuter the animal. Upon selling the animal - the purchaser will be responsible for updating the registration documents and chip for a fee, to be done by the company selling the animal to ensure accuracy. Clients will be required to show proof of address and be subjected to an in home inspection to ensure the client has the means to care for the animal being sold.
All Breeders need to be in compliance with all registration as seen above, providing adequate home care for the animal based on the animals needs. Breeders need to be limited on the amount of animals it has based on sales and compliance.
All shelters need to be registered with the county. All shelters should be required to register, chip, train, spay/neuter all animals that are turned over to their care. Shelters need more funding to keep up with the needs of the community. Shelters will be required to report and file criminal charges against those people who have outsourced, bred, dumped, ect. their animals.
Apts/Housing
We need laws that will protect animal owners from animal discrimination – If a certain breed of animal is not allowed – then why are we allowing the breeding of that animal? If we are to continue breeding all animals, then we need to provide safe places for those breed animal owners.
Apts and landlords need to accommodate pet owners without any additional fees, unless people are illegally housing animals, or not in compliance with the law. Apts need designated animal areas. Catios and dog areas. People renting will need to show proof of compliance with all registration, chip, train, spay/neuter documents to avoid any additional fees.
For this to work, we ask to use the animal chip database to track animals and their owners. Giving us the ability to flag and deny certain violators from owning any animals due to past proven negligence.
If caught illegally housing, breeding, selling, undocumented animals or caught in any animal negligence – you will be subjected to a 5,000 fine and permanently banned from owning any animals as well as up to 5 years in prison with no opportunity of reduced sentence to be accompanied with animal training, Social Training, therapy, and any other mental help the client may need at the clients expense – If client cannot afford the cost – Additional jail time.
If an animal has an aggressive offense – The animal will be put down at the owner’s expense, the owner will be fined up to 5000$, and required to pay all damages induced by the incident – to include medical fees and cremation or taxidermy – to be determined by the owners of the damaged party at that time. Also, due to this new law, owners of the damaged party will not be able to take any further legal action as all responsibility is taken by the aggressive pet owner.
