We have had some progress this week! The Chancellor has done an initial response to my headstone application, which is compassionate and understanding. There is scope for me to explore having a picture of Winnie the Pooh on the children's' headstone. Ellie Mae in particular would have loved that, and Caleb too. He has also responded to the campaign. He has said that when the next review of the regulations takes place, he will look at it afresh. Once the headstone application is completed, I will ask him more questions about that process, e.g. how often are the rules reviewed and what is the process. While this is in no way an assurance that anything will change, I have been encouraged by the Chancellor's obvious compassion and believe that the campaign and the views represented in it are being taken seriously and will be considered at the next review.
