After the JVLR Rail Over Bridge connecting Jogeshwari East and West was inaugurated by Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray on September 10, it was expected that the bridge would prove a boon to motorists taking the JVLR and driving towards Jogeshwari via JVLR. However, it’s only proving beneficial during non-peak hours.

Travel time has increased by double. For example, earlier it used to take 30-45 minutes to travel from Powai to WEH through JVLR. Now it takes 1.5-2 hours. Precise reasons are not exactly known, but we have observed that the delays are caused by adding one more signal at the WEH-JVLR junction, which earlier had 3. This has increased the waiting time (at the Red signal) on the junction to almost 5 minutes. We have also seen ambulances getting stranded in the traffic for hours.

We need the RTO (or other competent authority/authorities) to look into the matter urgently and provide better traffic management. If you are also suffering due to traffic and spending lots of time on road, then please sign this petition.
