Anaheim PD commits Perjury, Falsifies and destroys evidence with impunity.
The Issue
The Precedent: Anaheim PD displays rampant corruption in it's practices of destroying and falsifying evidence. It's IA department has already changed leadership twice so far this year and continues to protect these criminals. They also don't seem to follow their own procedures laid out in the "Professional Standards Police Discipline Process" on their website. Furthermore, the department is in violation of SB 1421 and refuses to disclose statistics on "lost" evidence.
WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING RECORDINGS WHEN THE OFFICERS CAN JUST DELETE ANYTHING THAT WOULD INCRIMNATE THEM?
There may be many more individuals who have been falsely imprisoned or even wronged by police personnel but were robbed of justice because the police destroyed the evidence that would prove they are guilty. Do the officers only target children? perhaps those without the financial means to hire attorneys? These are the questions that need to be answered.
Primary Goals:
- Raise awareness and request the department to become transparent and restore some level of trust within the community by publishing the requested statistics on "lost" evidence.
- Request that the department explain how they can prove any evidence was lost and not destroyed.
- Request that the department explain how they can prove a written report was not falsified.
- Request that the department give an example of a personnel file that CAN be shared under SB1421.
Secondary Goals:
- Appeal to our elected officials to introduce legislation that would make any officer that loses evidence to be automatically fired and charges filed. Or to make the discipline process public.( to be applied retroactively as well)
- Appeal to OCDA Todd Spitzer to prove that he is tough on ALL criminals regardless of occupation. And audit/prosecute corrupt APD personnel.
- Appeal to the CA DOJ to ensure APD adheres to SB 1421.
- Appeal to CA DOJ or FBI to conduct a probe/audit into APD specifically their IA Department.
My "Disposition" Letter doesn't even state what the official disposition is lol.https://www.anaheim.net/DocumentCenter/View/38043/Police-Discipline-Process
