When travelling by Amtrak, the Sightseer Lounge Car makes a train trip magical. Whether it's the East Texas pine trees flying overhead, or a Texas Hill Country Sunset. The rooftop panoramic windows the Sightseer Lounge provides is unmatched. It provides passengers the memories that make them want to ride again. As an avid Amtrak rider, I have traveled nearly 50,000 miles on the Texas Eagle. And a majority of those miles were spent riding in the Sightseer Lounge.

Unfortunately, Amtrak discontinued the Texas Eagle's Sightseer Lounge. Meanwhile, Amtrak has kept the Sightseer Lounge on both the City of New Orleans and Southwest Chief. Yet both of those routes have less ridership than the Texas Eagle. None of Amtrak's long distance routes should lose their sightseer lounge, including the Texas Eagle. 

Removing the Sightseer Lounge car removes the spirit and soul of the train. It's the key component to riders recommending the service to others. Speaking for myself and other Amtrak riders, we kindly request the return of the Sightseer Lounge car on the Texas Eagle.
