Gay businesses such as The Engel, are the important lifeblood of the Zeedijk. Customers have become aware of the personal vendetta shown by the owner of the Mc'Carthy's  tobacco store and its seriously negative impact on the operation of The Engel. Customers and owners deserve greater respect and tolerance. This initiative is organised by customers who believe the persecution of the good people who run and work in The Engel should stop and want to ask the Amsterdam Gemeente to play their part in ensuring fairness and a satisfactory and speedy conclusion.
