Please sign this petition, to ask the owner of the restaurant called "Amerindian" to change the name, theme, and the food names of the restaurant.

Amerindian is the Indigenous American race; a race of people who are actively fighting genocide. I advise you to look up Standing Rock, Oak Flat, and Keystone Pipeline. I encourage you to look up Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW). I encourage you to look up, "US government gives bodybags to tribes asking for medical supplies."

You would never make a restaurant and call it "The Palestinian", let alone name the food "Gaza Burger" or "West Bank Fries". So why would you name the restaurant Amerindian, with Apache fries and Native Burger? Who would name cheap commodities after a race of people, let alone abuse the names of our tribes? Would you make a "Bedu" burger restaurant with "Otaibi burger with Azmi sauce," or "Banat Ajmi fries"? Wouldn't it be insulting for those tribes? So, don't you think it is insulting to do the same thing to our people?

The interior decoration of the restaurant isn't even honorific. You put a picture of a tribe's leader as a colorful cartoon. You took our entire race and made a joke out of it for money, at the expense of our dignity. Something you would never do to the Ajmi tribe or the Azmi tribe, or any other Kuwaiti tribe. Even you know that in Kuwait, you would have to be Kuwaiti and be part of the specific tribe in order to do what you did to us.

The Apache people are a proud desert warrior nation. Apache have fought as US soldiers in the Gulf War to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi occupation. Apache have preserved their integrity, culture, and heritage for generations.

You are not even involved with the Apache Nations; not helping with the coronavirus or anything else the tribes may need. The money being made off of the name of our race and tribes are not being used to support the tribal communities- only to line your own pockets and feel better about yourself- at our expense.

The State of Kuwait voted in favor in the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), which outlines the rights of indigenous people to protect and preserve their people's identities, names, languages, cultures, heritages, and religions. Article 40 states that Indigenous peoples have the right to fair procedures for the resolution of conflicts and disputes with countries or other parties.

The Federal IAC Act (25 USC S305) says, "...it is illegal to market an art OR craft items using the name of a tribe, if a member of that tribe (or certified craftsman of the tribe) did not actually create the art or craft item."(-Seattle School of Law). Offenses are filed by the US Attorney General, including offenses committed by foreign-owned businesses.

Common humanity says you cannot take a race of people and make money off of them without their involvement through consent. Again, I will use this analogy- as a Kuwaiti, you would not do this to Palestinians. So why did you do it to us?

With all of this considered, please change the name and theme of your restaurant- including the infringement on Apache Nation's sovereignty (by using their name).
