Many people say that their pet is an emotional support animal when their not, and business owners cannot ask for identification. They can ask if they are a support/service animal and what they do for the person. However, these false support/service animals make the real ones look bad. Our pets are not trained on the same level of service/support animals. They know how to behave in public and around other animals, pets do not. If we do not fix this system then the people who actually need a service/support animal will be harassed, questioned, and other thing to make sure that their service/support animal is not a fake. Everyone is affected by this issue in some way shape or form, whether it is by being directly affected or non-directly. Fake service/support animals need to be stopped. Currently business' can't ask for identification, that also has to change, so that people us their pet as an "emotional support animal" can be stopped and those who actually need one have proof that they need one. People with disabilities or emotional problems need their animals for a reason, and their rights shouldn't be taken away just because your pet can't wait in the car for a little while. If we don't take a stand against this issue no one will. So help me stop service/support animal fraud.
