Homer Glen residents pay $85.58 a month per 5,000 gallons, not including sewer charges — a figure higher than all but one of the Chicago area's publicly managed systems that use Lake Michigan water. A family of four, pays over $200 per month for water. Lets all change this extortion from American Water Works.

Since Illinois American acquired Homer Glen’s water system in 2002, the village has been in an uphill battle against the company. They formed a Sewer and Water Task Force to investigate the increasing cost of water. They’ve filed complaints and petitions with the ICC. They’ve fought countless rate increases, only to have the governing body approve them. They’ve tried to reacquire the water and sewer systems, but Illinois American shows no interest in selling what they consider an easy money-maker.

Lets all get together and change this injustice. Why are we letting them steal our hard earned money?
