For over 30 years, AKC has recognized dilute (aka "silver") Labrador retrievers as purebred Labrador retrievers and has registered them as such.  However, the anti-dilute crowd continues to chastise dilute Labs and has asked AKC to cease their recognition of our beautiful, purebred dogs.  This "petition" is intended merely as a mechanism to show AKC how much we appreciate their support.  If you love dilute Labrador retrievers and believe they have earned their spot in the AKC's registry of purebred dogs, please sign.
