American Airlines: Review John Nuñez’s Travel Ban and Provide a Path to Reinstatement

My name is John Nuñez. American Airlines has banned me from flying with them for more than four years. I’m asking for a fair review of that decision and a clear explanation of what it would take to fly with them again.

My son, Shea, is nine years old and lives in Barranquilla, Colombia. I travel to see him because being his father means showing up. Being there for his birthday. Spending ordinary days together. Making sure he knows his dad is present in his life.

I have continued finding ways to be there, but this ban limits my travel options and makes those trips harder to arrange. My son is growing up, and every trip matters. I want a fair opportunity to resolve this restriction while he is still a child.

My family’s connection to American Airlines goes back decades. My father, Alfredo, worked as an American Airlines mechanic for more than 33 years. That history makes this personal, and it is one reason I want an opportunity to resolve it directly with the airline.

I understand that American Airlines has a responsibility to protect its passengers and crew. I am asking the airline to consider the complete record of my case, the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the time that has passed.

My request is straightforward: review my ban, allow me to submit supporting documentation, and provide a written decision explaining whether reinstatement is possible and what conditions I would need to meet.

You do not have to agree with my account of every detail to support giving me a fair review.

Please sign this petition asking American Airlines to hear me out and provide a clear path forward.
