Airlines must stop charging us money to give away our own air miles to whomever we choose.

Airlines must stop charging us money to give away our own air miles to whomever we choose.
The Issue
It's outrageous that the major airlines can impose a fee upon it's customers, for the transfer or gifting of miles that individual has earned. Whether it's giving them to a family member, or gifting them to a non-profit, this procedure needs to be updated which included doing away with the fees attached to it.
I started The Extra Mile Organization in 2011, before losing my dad to pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed with stage 4, and I was traveling from Los Angeles to Michigan to visit him as often as I could. Within 6 months, he had passed but not before I was able to say goodbye in a proper way, and be inspired to help others.
The mission of the organization is to take donated air miles from people and give them to those who cannot afford to otherwise visit terminally ill loved ones with cancer. Saying goodbye to someone we love shouldn't be a privilege, it's our right.
I'm going to continue to connect people, and ask that the airlines reconsidered this ridiculous fee structure across the board. Maybe make an exception when they're being given to a non-profit?
Let's fight for change. Are you with me?
