America Needs Truth, Not Confusion, on Iran

The Issue

At a moment when the United States is involved in a dangerous and rapidly evolving conflict with Iran, the American people deserve clarity, honesty, and accountability from those in power.

Instead, we are hearing conflicting messages.

Public statements from President Trump have suggested that productive talks with Iranian officials are underway. At the same time, Iranian leaders have denied that such negotiations are happening. Members of Congress, including Senator Chris Van Hollen, have raised serious concerns about whether the American people are being told the truth.

This confusion is not harmless. When it comes to matters of war, diplomacy, and national security, unclear or conflicting information can have real consequences. It affects global stability, financial markets, and most importantly, the safety of American service members and civilians alike.

Americans should not have to guess what is real. We should not have to rely on conflicting reports to understand whether our country is moving toward peace or deeper conflict.

This is not about politics. It is about responsibility. Regardless of party, every American has a stake in ensuring that decisions about war and peace are communicated truthfully and transparently.

We call on the President of the United States, the Department of State, and the National Security Council to provide clear, verified information about any communications with Iranian officials. We also call on Congress, including the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee, to exercise their oversight authority and ensure that the public receives accurate and complete information.

When lives may be on the line, truth is not optional.

America needs leadership that communicates with honesty, especially in moments of crisis. The stakes are too high for confusion, contradictions, or uncertainty.

Sign this petition to demand transparency, accountability, and truth in U.S. policy toward Iran, because the American people deserve nothing less.
