Amendment XXVIII

Amendment XXVIII

The Issue

The time has come to ensure that our lawmakers possess the awareness and familiarity with modern society necessary to make informed decisions on behalf of the American people. We propose a 28th Amendment to the Constitution that sets maximum age requirements for members of Congress. Currently, there are no specific age-related criteria beyond being at least 25 years old for the House and 30 years old for the Senate. By implementing stricter age requirements, we can promote a more cognitive and presently-aware legislative body.
