Amend the Supreme Court's Ruling on Presidential Immunity

Amend the Supreme Court's Ruling on Presidential Immunity

The Issue

Echoing a deeply personal belief in equality, I am compelled to challenge the existing verdict on Presidential immunity given by the Supreme Court. I firmly believe that nobody, regardless of their status, should be above the law. As an ordinary citizen, if I were to break a traffic rule, I would not be above facing the consequences. It should be no different for the President of the United States. Our call for change revolves around a fundamental expectation that the law stands the same for all, without exemption or privilege.

Under the current interpretation, the presidential immunity rule allows for potential loopholes, thereby barring absolute justice from being served. We believe that the rule should clearly specify what conduct falls under protection and what does not. Moreover, any criminal act committed post presidency should be subject to the same legal scrutiny as any ordinary citizen would face.

The Supreme Court, symbolizing our trust and hope in a just legal system, is there not to engage in politics, but to protect our constitution, interpret legislation, safeguard our civil rights, and mediate disputes. This petition, therefore, requests to challenge the current interpretation of presidential immunity, to ensure fairness, and uphold the principle that everyone remains equal before the law.

Please join me, sign this petition, and help us in establishing a balance of law that does not falter based on one's profession or status.
