Amend the Ban on Tattoo Establishments in Downtown Brentwood
The Issue
As a small family-owned local business, we have dreamed of expanding our operations to downtown Brentwood to contribute to its artistic and economic vibrancy. Unfortunately, the current rule prevents us from doing so. At the heart of this issue is an outdated ban on tattoo establishments situated downtown. The ban does not reflect the modern view of tattoos as a form of self-expression and art, nor does it reflect the business that our family has worked so hard to build and grow into an open and welcoming place for all, which we credit to being a family focused environment.
Our establishment is more than just a tattoo shop. It is a place where art, community, and culture flourish together. We believe that our business can be a valuable asset to Brentwood's existing vibrant business landscape and contribute positively to its diversity.
There has been a shift in the perception of tattoos in recent years. They are no longer deemed as taboo but appreciated as a form of art and expression.
We aim to present a proposal, backed by the residents of Brentwood, to the city council to reconsider the ban on tattoo shops in the downtown area. We believe that with the city's support, we can rise above the existing stereotypes, create an inclusive space and contribute positively to the cultural depth and economic vitality of downtown Brentwood.
We urge the residents of Brentwood and supporters of small businesses to sign this petition, showcasing the community's urge to revisit and amend the topic on the city council's agenda. Your signatures can mark the start of inclusive growth in downtown Brentwood. Please sign and support our cause.
