Amend Residential Area Parking Regulations to Exclude Suburbs

The Issue

Current laws restrict parking in a residential area to a maximum of three hours, leading to unwarranted parking violations. These limitations breed inconvenience, with many of our guests unfairly ticketed due to insufficient parking time.

The rule, which doesn't apply to suburbs like Barrhaven, Findlay Creek, Orleans and Kanata, is unduly applied to other areas, amidst a housing crisis. Given the series of parking offenses, and considering that the city doesnt allow us to extend our driveways, the law seems alarmingly out of touch with the realities of suburban life.

We're urging legislative bodies to revisit and amend these regulations, in favor of a more accommodating rule that respects suburban residential rights. Please join us in lobbying for this much-needed adjustment to our area's parking laws. Sign the petition.
