Amend NM House Bill 134 for the Removal of Feminine Hygiene Dispensers in Boys' Bathrooms

The Issue

As a concerned parent of young elementary students, along with many others, I believe it's necessary to address a peculiar implementation in our children's school restrooms. We've seen the emergence of feminine hygiene dispensers in boys' bathrooms under the auspices of NM House Bill 134, a likely misuse of taxpayers' funds which raises a series of bewildering concerns about this measure.

Initially, it's important to note these dispensers are installed yet not stocked, indicating this disregard of funds. In addition to the waste of public resources, this move inadvertently ends up causing possible gender confusion among our impressionable children at such a tender age. As parents, we question the need for these dispensers in boys' restrooms considering their purpose remains unfulfilled and their presence unnecessary.

We are not advocating to abolish the entire NM House Bill 134. We recognize that it may have other aspects beneficial to our community. However, we are explicitly questioning and asking for the removal or amendment of the clause that supports the installation of feminine hygiene dispensers in the boys’ bathrooms.

We must prioritize our children's understanding, mental health and clear communication about gender roles. It's about time we create an environment that's secure, appropriate, and comfortable for our children. Please join us, let's advocate for the removal or amendment of this part of NM House Bill 134 and ensure our resources are funneled towards pressing, genuine needs. Sign this petition now. Let us voice our concerns strenuously for the benefit of our children's clear, unclouded growth.
