Please help!!! For over 10 years our family has owned backyard chickens and until recently, we have had no issues with the town or any neighbors.  About a month ago we received a letter from the town stating that we must remove the chickens from our property of 2 acres.  The letter stated that because the keeping of chickens/poultry is omitted from the code, then it is not permitted.  We are seeking to add sensible language to the zoning laws that includes and allows the keeping of backyard "hobby" chickens (roosters excluded) for residents of LaGrange.  Please support us and your neighbors by signing this petition so that we may continue to keep our chickens!
