The Issue

Right now in Kentucky, a deadly gap in the law allows people who cause a fatal crash and flee the scene, or who kill someone while driving without a valid license, to avoid the serious accountability they deserve.

On November 30th 2025 my 7 year old niece Madison Fisher and her Nana were involved in a serious hit and run accident. Madison passed away at Norton's children hospital due to injuries from the accident, Mandy Fisher (Nana) suffered a broken collar bone, broken breast bone, broken ribs, and her right knee is broken. Families across Kentucky have been left without justice because KRS 507.050 (Manslaughter in the Second Degree) does not clearly cover these situations, KRS 507.060 (Vehicular Homicide) states that a driver MUST be under the influence in order to be charged with Vehicular Homicide. As a result, people who take a life through reckless, unlawful actions may face only minor or incomplete charges.

This must change. Change is needed and Justice is demanded!
