As a resident of Saratoga, I am personally affected by the current Homeowners Association (HOA) bylaws which only approve one roof color - weathered grey. This limitation is not just an aesthetic concern but also affects the resale value of our homes. Black roofs are among the most popular roof colors nationwide due to their timeless appeal and ability to complement various architectural styles.

According to Zillow's 2018 Paint Color Analysis, homes with black or charcoal gray front doors sold for $6,271 more than expected. While this statistic specifically refers to front doors, it underscores the potential impact that darker colors can have on a home's value.

The current HOA bylaw restricts us from making an advantageous choice for our homes' appearance and value. We ask for your support in amending these rules to include black as an approved roof color. Please sign this petition and help us bring about this much-needed change in our community.
