Good News

Over 70,000 Signatures and 11,000 petition shares!  You guys are amazing!

This morning, Justin Trudeau suggested that individuals working less than 10 hours a week may be able to qualify for CERB.  Furthermore, we can expect an update for people that have had their incomes impacted but are making less than the $2,000/per month that CERB is offering.

The details are yet to be known but will likely be revealed in the coming days.  It’s too early to call Victory, but this is undoubtedly progress!

Additionally, all major banks have temporarily slashed their credit card interest rate by about half.  But 10.99% compounded interest is still very high, so its best not to have any credit card debt at all.

Progress update

We are winding down our letters and calls to Members of Parliaments in light of the new developments.  The government has heard our concerns, and we will wait patiently for the details.  Until further notice, we won’t be reaching out to anymore MPs.  And to be honest… they seem to be pretty busy and overloaded these days.  A few MPs had assured me that our concern had been brought up to the Minister of Finance, and they are well aware of our concerns.

Our scheduled interview with CBC recently was cancelled, likely due to the recent development this morning.  While we were undoubtedly disappointed, we are told that CBC will still have an online article and radio piece (The World at Six) mentioning the petition

Lastly, I just want to thank everyone for the support and kind words.  They have made all our efforts worthwhile!  I am also happy to say that we have just hit over 100+ followers on our brand new Facebook and Twitter account.  A lot of milestones achieved and progress made today.
