Stop Fracking in the Wye Valley, the Forest of Dean and the rest of the UK

The Government are 'consulting' on 159 Fracking sites and have already issued licenses with varying degrees of restrictions on them, throughout the UK, four of which cover some of the most beautiful, nature rich areas of the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean around Coleford to St Briavels, Whitchurch to Christchurch, Symonds Yat to Whitecroft, Bream and Sharpness.
There is insufficient evidence to show that these operations are safe, will not have an adverse effect on the water table and water supply, the various sites of Special Areas of Conservation in these areas and tourism, which combine to bring in vast amounts of income to the area, as well as enjoyment of the environment to both locals and visitors alike,
We call on Amber Rudd and the Department of Energy and Climate Change to stop all fracking operations, and to cease issuing licences for surveys and investigative works on these and any other sites in the Wye Valley and the rest of the UK.
