Have you ever run out of milk and needed to make a quick trip to the grocery store, just to pick up one or two things? We've all been there, and it's annoying for sure, but ease of access to local grocery options makes that process quick and painless. But for Lincoln Park residents and students, that access may be going away - for good.

In May, the DePaul Whole Foods closed to the public. This store services the local neighborhood community and the DePaul University student community. Without it, neighbors and students have to travel out of the neighborhood just to get groceries. This is challenging because many students and neighbors in this area don't have access to cars.

Messages sent to Amazon-Whole Foods and Alderman Michelle Smith have gone unanswered. There's currently no timeline for when the store will reopen to the public, or if it will at all. With Amazon's move toward permanent "dark" stores, it's likely the DePaul store will be shuttered to the public for good. 

Let's send a message that Amazon-Whole Foods and our local government can't ignore. Sign the petition below to reopen the DePaul Whole Foods, bring jobs back to the neighborhood, and give grocery access back to students and neighbors!
