We all know that big companies like Amazon get their workforce through agencies and we all understand the logic behind this but what we don't understand is why they do not reward their best temporary workers with a permanent contract. I've been working for them for nearly a year and I received a temporary Amazon contract (12 weeks) on my 6th month. After that, my temporary contract has been renewed 3 times (4 weeks at a time). I am very good at my job and I get excellent feedback from my imediate leadership. However, the higher it gets, the more workforce is just "numbers". The impact this is having on my life and my family's life is huge. There is no certainty that I'll have a job after 4 more weeks and it's just soul destroying. Another huge downfall is the fact that, being on temporary contract, you cannot advance in the company and you are immediately rejected when you apply for internal positions within the company. Apart from that huge inconvenience, Amazon is a great company to work for. So please help me raise awareness and maybe whoever needs to hear this and can make a change will do. Thank you.
