Amazon forcing employees to work 60 hours a week while paying us $12 an hour
The Issue
I've been working at Amazon for over a year now, and the situation has become unbearable. Just recently, I was forced to work 60 hours of overtime in a single week for a measly $12 an hour. It's not just me; it's happening to all of us. This is the reality for thousands of Amazon employees who are being pushed beyond their limits while barely making enough to cover basic expenses.

Working these long hours isn't just exhausting—it's dangerous. Studies have shown that excessive overtime can lead to increased risks of accidents and serious health issues like stress, heart problems, and fatigue. Many of my colleagues and I are feeling the toll these long hours are taking on our health, yet we're afraid to speak up for fear of losing our jobs.
We deserve more pay and we work to hard to get small money,we got kids and life outside of work. It’s time for Amazon to recognize the worth of its employees and to change its unethical labor practices. We are not robots; we are human beings with families and lives outside of work. We demand that Amazon cap overtime hours to a reasonable limit and increase the base pay to at least $15 an hour, which is fair compensation for the work we perform.

Amazon has reported staggering profits, especially since the onset of the pandemic. According to Business Insider, Amazon made over $386 billion in revenue for 2020, a 38% increase compared to the previous year. With such profits, the company can easily afford to improve pay and working conditions for its workers.
Fair treatment of employees is not too much to ask. We are calling on Amazon to act with responsibility and humanity. By doing so, they can set a positive precedent for other companies, ensuring that no worker has to choose between their health and their paycheck.
Please, join me in demanding that Amazon treats its employees with the respect and fairness they deserve. Sign this petition to help improve working conditions for all Amazon employees today!
