Amazon Flex Id Deactivation Without Any Notice Why?
The Issue
Dear Sir/ Mam
My name is SK Arman, an Amazon Flex Delivery Associate. I have worked under this program for the last 7+ months. But before some days, my ID has been deactivated from their end without any prior notification, intimation, or notice. We, as an Indian, support AMAZON, as this is the number one customer-centric company (No doubt in that).
They treat their workers very best, provides 2 days paid holiday in a week. But things are different when it comes to individual workers like me - A Flex Associates.
This is a job opportunity where AMAZON offers a single worker to earn from 120/- to 140/- wages per hour. They have 2 hours slots and 4 hours slots/ blocks also. I worked in both of them. I delivered packages with a smile to the customers so that they can get faith in AMAZON. Even I worked in the worst time in this Corona pandemic and locked down, to support customers to get their essential products.
In this career, I had delivered at least 2000+ packages, in any flexible conditions, may it in the evening till 9 PM, in the rain, till midnight 12 AM, or in the morning at 6 AM.
I was very loyal and honest with my work, didn't do any wrong things so that they can terminate me from the job. I was fully dependable on this job. I also started making videos on my YouTube channel named - LEARNING IS LIFE, about all the possible bad or good things about this career. You can check my channel.
As an Influencer, I spoke about all positive things and all negative issues in my videos. But never a time, I did not have any intimation that this program is bad. I spoke so many times in my videos, that this program is THE BEST in any delivery boy's job life.
Some problems we faced in this job profiles are,
1) Sometimes, they give us so many packages in 4 hours slot like 25,30,35,40 and even 40+ in some regions in India. I got so many calls from my subscribers that in some stations they are giving 50 packages also. But it is not doable, we can deliver 25 packages in our 4 hours slots. As they tell us to give a good customer experience. So for every customer, we need to have at least 10 minutes' time. And top of that there may be 4/5 COD packages which take even 5/10 minutes extra.
2) Suppose if our slot time starts from 10 AM, we had to clear all the formalities till 10:05 AM, if we are late for 1 second after 10:05, on that day our slots gets automatically canceled, we don't get any earnings for that date and we have to return back to our home. But when comes time for our slots closing time, then our app did not log out automatically ( this thing should be done).
We return from the route after all the possible packages delivered and that time for returning cash, undelivered packages that too a slow process, we have to make a line and after all this process is done, many a day we saw our total time took more than 4 hours, eventually 5 or 6 hours. If we return more packages then also they treat us like everything, cross-check calls with customers and why we returned so many packages, so many things we used to listen from them.
So, here my question is if they are not allowing us a minute extra at the start of our day, so why do we work an extra minute also with this process? Many students may have colleges, tuition after their slots, many part-timers may have full-time jobs after their slots, on that day, they will be so much physically and mentally depressed.
3) They release their slots in a time when none of us, don't know. Even maybe at midnight after 12 AM, we have to check all the times when they are releasing their upcoming week blocks, in which time we can work.
So to do that, we (almost everyone) use an app called QUICK TOUCH AUTOMATIC CLICKER. This app helps us to grab a slot automatically when it shows as an offer in our Amazon Flex app. I don't know that this is a bad practice, but if so, So does Amazon. They should inform us before releasing an offer/slot/block. As human beings, we can not refresh all the time and it is very painful to do that also.
4) Some of the workers in the station team show an attitude that they are giving us payments from their own pocket, not from dearest JEFF BEJOS sir.
5) For their prime program, sometimes we get packages which may be 20/30 kg+ in total, we also served them to the customers with a smile in our face.
6) Before some days they have introduced a referral program in which if we refer someone we get an incentive amount out of it. So new joiners are coming in and we, the old associates are not getting continued slots.
So with all of this, one of my friends called me from Rajasthan and he told in the conversations that we should do a strike if Amazon doesn't finetune these issues. And of course, we will intimate this before a certain time like 10/15 days before, and we will not go for FLEX works.
I uploaded that conversation video on my channel and requested AMAZON FLEX SUPPORT TEAM, to solve FLEX associates issues.
And after that video, I saw my ID has been deactivated without any notice. When I asked in the mail, they replied that my ID is disabled and I am not eligible for this job. But didn't answer why they did this thing with me.
So far, they did these things( ID DEACTIVATION ) not only with me but with so many associates working in INDIA itself.
So the conclusion is, being a top-level MNC company (AMAZON) they should change their policy a little bit, so that we, the small delivery associates get benefits, not a disadvantage from this in our career.
I wish you guys will sign this petition so that this letter reaches the concerned authority. And we get our deactivated id again reactivated.
