Better Rights For Amazon Contractors

Better Rights For Amazon Contractors

The Issue

1. Contractors need more freedom to know from Amazon, the reasons for Suspensions and Terminations. Instead of receiving lots of generic emails that simply say failing to adhere to the terms and conditions.

2. Contractors need more human interaction for complaints. Automated responses do not help, especially when a persons income is severed immediately.

3. Reserves and daily offers should be tailored towards the contractors usual depots rather than constantly offering depots that are 50+ miles away when you live 7 miles from a depot, a depot which you hardly ever receive offers for.

4. That our home address is taken into account when assigning deliveries , especially late at night. Having to drive 40+ miles to return home severely impacts the small financial reward, you get, doing the work.

5. A more consistant Adjustment rate. Not the complete pot luck system that is in place at present. If you are delayed at the depot because of mistakes that are the fault of the Depot and you then have to work an hour or more over, you would expect to be paid for that extra time.

6. A radical change for a fairer system for releasing reserved blocks , instead of rewarding consistant and hardworking contractors, amazon does the complete opposite and penalises them for working too much. Yet it rewards contractors that hardly ever work, by showing them offers first and in high numbers.

7. This program is called Flex, yet we have little flexability of when and where we want to work. We accept the blocks given to us or we dont get the work. Not very flexible

8. As independant contractors amazon has no interest or even cares about what happens to us. If a contractor is attacked ,then full support should be given to the contractor. All information obtained should be shared with the contractor. To say, due to data protection they cannot share this information is another slap in our faces.

9. Missing packages should not impact on a contractors rating unless it is found to be due to driver negligence. Repeated instances of missing packages at any customers address should be grounds for Amazon to direct all deliveries to nearby lockers instead.
