Amazon supply our Looney Tunes that we ordered
Amazon supply our Looney Tunes that we ordered
The Issue
Over the last few days a number of individual's ordered Looney Tunes - The Complete Golden Collection (Volumes 1-6). Amazon sent out email confirmation's, followed shortly after by "Despatching soon" (clarifies the order acceptance after checks for no error's on the order) notifications on our accounts and earmarked £7 from our bank accounts.
A large number of us contacted Amazon via chat to confirm if the price was correct. We also contacted them to alert them if this item was a misprice to remove it otherwise it would lead a large quantity of customers disappointed. We were all told that this was not a misprice or error and we will definitely receive our orders. A representative said "I can confirm that you will definitely receive your order, I can guarantee it. Amazon sometimes get large discounts from manufactures, it's in our summer sale".
Amazon today had removed the item from sale and put it back on sale at the price of £38.30. It would have been understandable if the orignal price was £70 but how can it suddenly drop to £7? It would have also been understandable if the mis-price was £3.83. This price was purposely dropped hence breaking the law, as it was just dropped to entice customers come to the site and purchase other goods. Now they have increased the price statrigically just under cutting the market seller by 4p.
Amazon then removed orders from their accounts without notifying customers. When we contacted them again, we were told that there was an error and emails were not going to be sent out to customers explaining there order had disappeared from there accounts. After a large amount of people contacting them, Amazon decided to send emails, and said that they canceled the order's on the grounds of "technical error" or "software error". With no sort of compensation offered, just a back handed apology and chat advisors not willing to talk to us about this issue.
However a large number of people have had there orders dispatched leaving many loyal customers very disapointed.
Honour this deal, as we were promised by your staff we will receive it.
