Thank you for reaching out. We are doing every possible way to build an Off leash dog park in Ward 6. Councillor Collucci has also reached out to staff to provide few space options for Urban Staff to review.  It is a complex planning and our staff have been working diligently on getting a dog park in each ward.  Recently, our office have also reached out to Urban Planning staff for an update on this project, please see their update below.  

Currently Parks Planning is in the process of developing a new Off-Leash Dog Park Policy which will be supported by a consultant. The consultant is being selected in the next few days as the RFP closed on August 4, 2022. The timeline for awarding and starting the policy work with the consultant is anticipated for this month with a project deliverables set for December of this year. A community engagement and stakeholder consultation plan is included in this phase of the work which will be implemented in the first half of 2023. With respect to Ward 6, there have been 3 parks recently developed with 2 of them considered completed and 1 nearing completion. These new parks were not designed an Off-Leash Dog Area but it is our mandate to have at least one in each Ward and the Off-Leash Dog Park Policy will assist with this.
